XSEED announced today that they are teaming up with a Japanese name company, by the name of Marvelous Entertainment Inc. [See the previous “Avalon Code” post] to bring about a stronger presence for Marvelous in North America.

“We’re pleased to be able to announce our new expansion into the largest gaming market in the world, the United States. I’m confident that together with our co-publishing agreement with XSEED Games, we will be able to hit the ground running as we ramp up our US operations, ” stated Marvelous Entertainment Managing Director Yasuhiro Wada.

XSEED Games President Jun Iwasaki also made a comment: “We’re honored to get the chance to partner with Marvelous Entertainment as they establish and grow their presence in the US market. They have an exceptional library of original and creative games many of which should prove a hit with Western gamers.”

So, what does this mean? So far, one thing. XSEED has announced they will be bringing over Marvelous’ Valhalla Knights 2 for the Playstation Portable System during the fall of 2008. As stated by Ken Berry, the head of marketing of XSEED Games: “We appreciate this game being the first in our co-publishing partnership with Marvelous Entertainment as it will help to set the quality standard high for all future games coming out of this deal.”

Be sure to look forward to some wonderful endeavours from these two companies stateside! Hopefully this means they will release Avalon Code, the current game Marvelous has in developement for the Nintendo DS, in the United States sometime in the future.
